Again, we begin our Festival with the Miss Baileyton Beauty Pageant on Thursday night, September 4 at 6:00 p.m.   This is always a popular event and lots of pretty young girls descend on Baileyton!!   We are happy to have all of them.  Cost for being in the pageant is $35.00 each ($10.00 for Miss Photogenic) and you may contact Ms. Virginia Cooter for more information at 423.234.2091. Applications are available in Baileyton at Town Hall, Porter’s Grocery, on this website and Greene Bank.  Applications are also available at Comcast in Greeneville.

Friday events begin at 4:00 p.m. with the Food and Crafts booths opening on the Baileyton Elementary School grounds.   For information about booths, please contact Ms. Becky Neal at 423.234.9961.   Sandy’s Karaoke Club will be performing a 'Musical Medley'.  At 7:00 p.m., we have a talent show for youngsters 18 years and under.   You must audition for this on Monday night, 09-01-08 at 6:00 p.m. in the Baileyton School Auditorium.

On Friday, the North Greene High School Volleyball Team will be sponsoring a volleyball tournament to begin on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at noon.   Please contact Ms. Angie Beets at 423.329.9090 for information on this.

We will have our Cruise-In on Friday night.   Registration is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the viewing of the cars will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.   The winners will be announced and awards present at 7:30 p.m. on the stage.   For more information, please call Mr. J. L. Lamb at 423.234.2632 or Ms. June Pinkston at 423.234.0938.

Steven Broyles will be giving a Tour of Old Baileyton at 6:00 p.m.   The tour takes an hour or so and for those of you who have not been on this, you are in for a real treat.

On Saturday morning, registration begins at 8:40 a.m. for the Quilt and Needlework show.   The show itself begins at 9:30 a.m. and prizes will be awarded in several categories.  For information on this, please contact Ms. Frances Sayler at 423.234.9741.

The Festival officially kicks off on Saturday morning with a Parade and this year’s Parade Marshal is our own North Greene High School Band with Mr. Scott Niswonger as the Honorary Parade Marshall.   The parade is great – if you come to see anything at the festival, this will be well worth your time.   Remember that all horses in the parade must have current coggins papers to participate in the parade.   This is a state regulation.   Please contact Ms. Lucille Pierce for information about an entry or parade information at 423.234.6221.   Following the Parade, there will be Opening Ceremonies and special guests will be recognized, Float awards presented and Antique Tractor Awards will be given.

There will be entertainment (singing and dancing) on stage from noon to 7:00 p.m.   Children’s crafts will be in the school yard at 12:30 p.m. and the Baileyton Alumni will hold its annual reunion at 2:00 p.m. in the School Auditorium.

At 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, the 5K Road Race will be run.  The course is certified and a favorite of many runners. Registration will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Town Hall, so put on those running shoes.  Awards in each age category and male/female trophies will be given after the race.   Please contact Ms. Diane McAmis at 423.234.7702 for more information on the road race.

Last on Saturday night will be the Street Dance.  All dancers must have photo ID and be 18 years of age and under.   Mobile Beats will be the DJ for the popular street dance!

On Sunday, September 9, food and craft booths will be open and at 11:00 a.m., the Good Neighbor Quartet  will sing and at 11:15 a.m., church services will be by Darren Crowder of Nashville, Tennessee..

All afternoon will be Gospel Music on stage. A complete list of singers will be announced at a later time.

To close out the Festival activities, Impact 4:12 will be performing at our Youth Rally.

This is our 16th Annual Celebration at Baileyton.   Much work goes into the planning of this Festival and it is looked forward to by many each September!
